What are the funds used for?
Donations are used for SSMHC advocacy costs, which includes purchasing lawn signs, maintenance of our website, and other public messaging (radio, billboards, etc.). We operate strictly on a volunteer basis, no funds will be given to a committee member as payment for their time.
Should any funds remain at the time we are able to dissolve the committee, they will be donated to Andy’s House, a Hospice Care home in Port Carling. More details about Andy’s House can be found here: Andy’s House
Can I receive a tax receipt?
SSMHC is not a registered charity. Unfortunately we are unable to issue donation receipts for tax purposes.
Can my donation be anonymous?
The financial trustees who sit on the SSMHC Executive will receive the source information of any donation to SSMHC through banking records. Neither the trustees nor the SSMHC will make donation information public without a donor’s express consent (or as may be required by law).
